There is no shortage of body weight exercises and workouts that can be done at home. These are very attractive because there is no equipment needed and can be done anywhere and anytime. But sometimes doing the same workout day in and day out can become boring. If you are bored with your routine, excuses follow, and you are likely to skip your workout.
Try these tips below to change up your bodyweight routine.
1. Ladders – Try changing up the reps each set. Start at 5 reps for the first set and increase 5 reps each set up to 20, then go back down the ladder (5-10-15-20-15-10-5)
2. Increase Time Under Tension – Choose the number of repetitions you would like to complete and hold the last rep of each set.
3. Add a cardio exercise – After you complete a set of an exercise do a set number of jumping jacks or high knees before starting the next exercise.
4. Bring a Friend – Exercising is always better with someone else! Get your kids involved or your spouse, or workout with a friend after work before going home.
