Healthy Valentine’s Day Treats
When Valentine’s comes around there is always a plethora of chocolates and pink colored treats. Most of these treats are loaded with extra sugar and they usually don’t have any nutritional value. If you’re looking for a few treats that won’t break your calorie bank, you’re in luck! Try out these healthy V-day treats & let us know what you think!
Strawberry Cashew Energy Bites- A raw, vegan, gluten free treat with no added sugar that’s sure to satisfy any sweet tooth!
Ingredients:
1 Cup raw cashews
6 medjool dates
1/2 cup freeze dried strawberries
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
a pinch of salt
(Optional) 1 scoop of unflavored BiPro (or other protein powder)
Make it:
Place cashews in food processor or blender and pulse until crumbly, you still want some chunks for texture.
Add dates and pulse until mixture starts to form a sticky dough, add BiPro and pulse to combine.
Add vanilla and salt and pulse again to combine.
Add freeze dried strawberries and pulse until just combined.
Using your hands, roll 1 heaping teaspoon of dough into little bite sized balls then transfer to a storage container, tore in the fridge until you’re ready to eat them.
Frozen Yogurt Hearts
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh strawberries
1 cup yogurt (plain, greek or whole milk)
1-2 tablespoons maple syrup (can sub honey, agave, or other liquid sweetener)
Make it:
Blend strawberries in food processor or blender
Add yogurt and blend until combined
Add maple syrup and mix until combined
Pour into heart shaped molds, or pour into muffin tins 1/4 full. Top with sprinkles and freeze.
